How do I get help if I need assistance out of hours?
What security measures are in place?
For your safety, access to the building and car park will be via a swipe card or remote control, as will the operation of the lift to go to your floor. There is also a monitored CCTV security system in the communal areas.
Will healthcare services be available on site?
No. However, should the need ever arise, such services can be provided in the comfort and privacy of your own apartment. In addition to the visiting health professionals at Altum, Scarborough is well serviced by medical and health services that can help you continue to live independently. Within a three kilometre radius of the property there are four medical centres and numerous pharmacies.
Where will my mail be delivered?
Australia Post will deliver the mail to your own individual mailbox on the ground floor. If you’re expecting a delivery that requires a signature, you can arrange for bthe concierge to accept it on your behalf and hold it for you until you are ready to collect it. We will also have a store room next to reception for online grocery delivery.
How is my rubbish collected?
There are rubbish disposal bins on every floor, so you don’t have to walk far from your apartment. These bins are emptied throughout the week.
Will high-speed internet be available?
All apartments have have high speed broadband internet via a fibre connection. You will need to establish an account with your preferred service provider. There will be free wi-fi access for residents in the communal areas.
Can I have a pet?
Yes, most small to medium size pets are welcome. However, you will need approval from the manager and you and your pet will need to comply with certain rules and regulations.
Can I have overnight visitors?
Of course, it is no different from your current family home. For security purposes, we also ask that you let management know if you have anyone staying for longer than 2 weeks.
Is there on-site parking?
Yes, there is secure basement car parking assigned to your apartment. There are also 13 visitor bays available for your guests.
Are there on-site storage facilities?
Yes. Every apartment comes with a secure storeroom.

What are costs are involved with living at Altum?
Strata Fees
Strata Fee calculations are based on unit entitlement and can be paid either monthly, quarterly or annually.
Strata Fee’s cover the ongoing costs of operating and maintaining the common areas and facilities at Altum including, but not limited to, property repair and maintenance, gardening, insurance, council and water rates, the emergency assistance alarm system, and administrative and operational staffing costs.
Each year a budget will be established to cover the ongoing costs of providing the facilities and services at Altum to you. The Strata Fee is based on this budget and allocated across the 51 apartments.
Your Strata Fee does not cover:
• Council rates for your apartment
• Your utilities, telephone and internet usage, contents insurance etc
• Repairs and maintenance within your apartment (including in relation to whitegoods)
• Your day-to-day living expenses
Reserve Fund Fee
Sometimes known as a ‘sinking fund’, the Reserve Fund is designed to fund refurbishment of apartments, to ensure that the buildings and associated infrastructure are maintained to a high standard over the long term.
What services are available?
- Remedial massage, physiotherapy, podiatry and health checks from visiting health professionals in the consulting suite/treatment room
- Hairdressing and beauty treatments in the on-site salon
